The book is a quick read through with many useful, practical tips. She promotes it effectively with six testimonials including also other services that “Grace and Charm LLC” has to offer.

* What I particularly liked:

  • Her writing style, it feels as if she would be talking to you as a friend.
  • Some interesting facts and research, eg. the connection of appearance and salaries, the 5 top factors for economic success mentioned by millionaires.
  • Every chapter starts with a quote. My two favourites are:

“No matter what business you are in, you are in the relationship business.” (Harvey Mackay)

“Winning someone over, whether in business or in your personal life, depends on your ability to create an extraordinary rapport with that person and to make that person feel exceptional in your presence - that is charm.” (Brian Tracy)

  • The fact that she shares some of her own personal experiences adds definitely value to the book.

  • She provides lots of interesting tips, listed very systematically (some are highlighted in a box and called “Grace and Charm Insight”), eg. ‘how to avoid lipstick on your teeth’.

  • The practical examples, such as: how to decline an invitation gracefully, how you can say NO in ten different ways etc. are very useful and give you a concrete idea on how to approach certain things.

  • Other things that caught my attention: the fact that a “Tip Sheet” has been named “Encouragement Sheet” and the Power-Worksheet (an exercise that makes you think about 3 action steps you can take immediately to create your presence of power).
  • Furthermore, I found it great that she offered a 100 % Money Back Guarantee for 60 days to test-drive, giving no reason.

  • My personal favourite chapters are:

-> How to tap into the power of Networking to overcome the #1 challenge facing entrepreneurs today

-> Words that destroy your credibility

-> How Ultra Successful entrepreneurs command attention (with 9 interesting image blunders)

-> 10 Grooming Bag Must Haves (can be used as a checklist, very useful!)

How would I rate it?

I would give it a 9 out of 10. I would have given it a “10” if:

  • it would have included some examples (personal experiences/stories/anecdotes) of other women who applied the rules mentioned, since the book title is “WOMEN who win”. Some female professionals have been mentioned as testimonials at the beginning of the book. However, it would have been interesting to read about other womens’ personal experiences throughout the book, too.

One more thing:

“I would say that Walethia Aquil’s book is a must read for professionals who want to succeed in a: quick, effective, memorable and professional way.” Karin Schroeck-Singh
