Etiquette Question: In one of the break rooms a birthday party is going on. You are extremely busy at work - what should you do?
Appear briefly and then return to work.

My suggestion is this; you don't want to come across as a party pooper, so why don't you join the party, just go over and wish the birthday person a happy birthday. The only other option is to speak with your supervisor let them know how you are being effected by the noise. You never know the break may be just what you need, and the next party could by yours.
