In search of manners ... A good example
“Tina was an accountant who had no family but shared her life with three dogs. She lost one of her dogs to a long battle with cancer, and was devastated. Other members of her firm treated her loss as sad but unimportant. Her supervisor recognized the dog’s significance to Tina, sent her a handwritten letter of condolence, and quietly arranged for her to have a week off. By recognizing the emotional importance of this event, the supervisor showed appropriate respect for his employee. Tina was immensely grateful for this act of kindness and, when next asked, worked overtime on a big project.”
Lesson learnt?
Showing respect for your employees (and their pets!!!) can pay off.
